Kate is the Course Coordinator for the Master of Information Science (Library and Information Practice), the Master of Information Science (Information Management), the Master of Information Technology (Library and Information Studies), the Master of Information Technology (Information Management), and the Master of Information Technology (Executive Information Practice). (Phew! That is a bit of a mouthful!)
She researches information experience, particularly in social media spaces, and corporate use of social media, particularly in information organisations. Kate finished her PhD last year with a study that investigated the information experience of new mothers in social media.
Kate has a background as a practitioner in the library and information professions. She has worked in academic, national and public libraries, in a variety of roles with an emphasis on program, product and service delivery.
When she’s not working, Kate likes to make stuff (she’s a sewer and crafter), binge watch TV series, and hang out with her family, especially her six year old niece and nephew. They read, game, craft, cook and wreak havoc together.
